2009 Snowdrop Rally Report

27 February 2009

John and Jonathan Henderson claimed their first ever overall victory on the Snowdrop Rally. The early leaders were no.1 seeds, David and Kyle Preston, but they missed a secret check just before the relaxed section and they eventually came home down in 4th place. Leslie and Gareth Hawe were also fancied for the win, but two separate mistakes in the first half of the rally put paid to their challenge, and left the door open for the famous yellow Sunbeam of the Hendersons to finish in first place.

Raymond and Gareth Deazley continued their fine run of form to win the Novice class. It was a close run thing, though, as Clive Latimer and David McElroy were only 3 marks behind them by the finish.

In the Beginners class, James Woods and Isla Graham took the spoils in their Ford Escort ahead of the VW Polo of Philip Somerville and Russell Allen.
