The Queen’s University of Belfast Motor Club exists to promote low cost motorsport for its student, graduate and associate membership, whether they be car owners or not. The club meets on Tuesday evenings during the academic year and had a membership of over 150 in 2016.
Club members compete in and organise events in many motorsport disciplines and can offer help and guidance to any new competitor or official. The club have a great history, having been the starting point for many people who have gone on to do great things in motorsport.
The club are particularly well respected in Navigation rallying where they have produced several Northern Ireland Champions. The calendar also contains a social aspect including trips to motorsport events throughout Ireland and Great Britain. The club have a history of innovation and were the first club to run a Targa style event with the very successful “Summer Lanes Rally” in 2008. It is the club’s objective to consolidate its position at the forefront of entry level motorsport by consistently improving the quality of its events and the opportunities available to its membership.
