NIMC

Northern Ireland Motor Club

The NIMC was formed in 1981 by the ANICC for the sole purpose of organising and promoting the Ulster Rally.   Key officials from the existing ANICC clubs became the organising body for the rally.

The Ulster Rally became a sustainable event which was able to attract the major rally series and gave local competitors the opportunity to measure themselves against the best from other championships. Its unique selling point has consistently been that it is the only event to host both the Irish and British international series and attract future World championship contenders to the roads of Northern Ireland. It also forms a part of all the current manufacturer feeder championships in the British Isles which are used to recruit new talent into the sport.

The club depends heavily on the support of a significant number of ANICC member clubs in order to successfully promote an event of the scale of the Ulster Rally.  There are over 800 volunteers involved in running the event.  As always the key objective of all people involved is to successfully and safely deliver the premier motorsport event in Northern Ireland. The club is always keen to welcome new volunteers to assist on the event, and receive fresh ideas and suggestions that may improve the rally.

The 2018 event will be based in County Antrim. Previously the event has started from locations such as Portrush, Craigavon, Belfast, Armagh, Antrim, Enniskillen and Derry/Londonderry.
