ANICC congratulates Kris Meeke on his maiden WRC win

On behalf of the Northern Irish motor sport community, the ANICC congratulates Kris Meeke on becoming the first Northern Irish driver ever to win a round of the FIA World Rally Championship.  The 35-year-old from Dungannon, guided by his co-driver Paul Nagle from County Kerry, won round four of this year’s championship in Argentina by just over 18 seconds aboard their Citroen DS3.

Kris has spent his life surrounded by motorsport, as his father Sydney is one of the best-known local rally preparation experts.  Kris competed on many club events, including Navigation Rallying and Autotests, before setting out on his successful international Stage Rallying career which has seen him travel the world and has culminated in him winning an event at the very highest level of the sport.
