28 April 2017

Round 2 of the ANICC Millers Oils Hillclimb Championship takes place on Saturday 29th April at Craigantlet Hillclimb off the Belmont Road, Belfast. The local competitors are joined at this event by British Hillclimb Championship competitors in their fantastic specialist single seater hillclimb cars.

A capacity entry of 105 vehicles across a wide range of classes will compete, from standard roadgoing cars to F1 style racing cars.

Favourite for overall victory and maximum British Championship points is Trevor Willis in his OMS with Wallace Menzies in his Gould likely to be another frontrunner,

In Northern Ireland Championship terms, reigning Champion Chris Houston must start favourite in his beautiful new OMS after giving it a debut win in the first round at Croft. He’ll have a hard time holding off the rapid Richard McGimpsey in his RMG.

Leading Saloon Car competitors will include David Francis’ powerful Escort Cosworth, Gerard O’Connell’s beautifully prepared Escort RS and father and son team Rudi and Roger Gage in their lightweight spaceframe Maguire Minis.

There are several good spectator viewpoints available to see the action and practice begins at 10,30am
