Round 2 of the ANICC Millers Oils Hillclimb Championship takes place on Saturday 29th April
at Craigantlet Hillclimb off the Belmont Road, Belfast. The local competitors are joined at
this event by British Hillclimb Championship competitors in their fantastic specialist single
seater hillclimb cars.
A capacity entry of 105 vehicles across a wide range of classes will compete, from standard
roadgoing cars to F1 style racing cars.
Favourite for overall victory and maximum British Championship points is Trevor Willis in his
OMS with Wallace Menzies in his Gould likely to be another frontrunner,
In Northern Ireland Championship terms, reigning Champion Chris Houston must start
favourite in his beautiful new OMS after giving it a debut win in the first round at Croft. He’ll have a hard time holding off the rapid Richard McGimpsey in his RMG.
Leading Saloon Car competitors will include David Francis’ powerful Escort Cosworth,
Gerard O’Connell’s beautifully prepared Escort RS and father and son team Rudi and Roger
Gage in their lightweight spaceframe Maguire Minis.
There are several good spectator viewpoints available to see the action and practice begins
at 10,30am
